Do you have a hood, fresh air supply?

 

Just a hood and a dust mask..

 

I used to do it that way too, my hood wasn`t much. I didn`t do it after I found out about silicosis lung disease.

 

I've got a goody looking diving mask with respirator mask and a garden hose connector so that I can run my oxygen concentrator line through for fresh air, all taped into a painter's hood. I'll be needing to setup my sandblasting system this next month, there's going to be either a 60 or 80 gallon tank being added to the 80 gallon tank that I already have.
I bought 3 more painters suits for 10 at the auction. So far I'm winning or have won 33 of 34 lots and have spent in total about 110. There's 2 auctions tonight so I should be pretty damned poor tomorrow.

 

Sounds like that should keep you safe. Isn`t sandblasting hard on the lens?

 

Yes, I have to change them every now and then..

 

Do you use a plastic lens or glass John, the lens in the diving mask is glass but they've only been used for painting and are a magnet for paint.

 

The lens are just the plastic inserts, I bought the hood from Princess Auto. I also wear safety glasses besides just in case

I`m not sure how I would handle that. Most local suppliers are about 20-25 minutes away.

 

Most of my stuff for the old trucks are ordered and shipped to me either by mail or UPS as for mechanical parts I either pick up in Dryden or have the local garage bring them in and can pick them up a few blocks away..

 

I like USPS and have a real hate on for UPS.
