We got whacked with a short down pour in the early afternoon, had to hustle to get off the ladder but I got my piece of custom made water deflector done and installed in time. The rain deflectors on sale are galvanized tin and look like crap when they're in an obvious place so I bent one up from the extra length of eavestrouph I bought.
I'm still boat hunting as that will be my golf alternative, casting a lead sinker and not catching fish is more my speed some days.

There's not much available out here for the class or style of boat I'm looking for. There was a 50s Grandy that needed completion and would need a I/O conversion but the price was to good and I don't have the time for it right now. There is a pair of boats that are interesting but 4 grand is a bit of a stretch right now but in 2 months they might show up if they're still around.

There's quite a bit of the covid money floating around so it depends what you're looking for, myself, I like the muskoka style boat with an overnight cabin. That only shows up as a project here or is top money. I could cheat and start with a big enough shell with a 4 cylinder inboard so that my basic structure is there. It would give me a year to see if there's a v6 option I can do, the mill in the shop opens up the option book pretty good.

There's a pair of shorter under 16' inboards, one is good motor bad boat and the other is the opposite. Both are fiberglass and I can cut up mahogany strips to dress it up from the high water line. Building a cabin is easy enough but I'd rather have a 21' and these things are dangerous to stretch.
