Heading to Ocracoke...

 

24 mile long bridge over Lake Ponchartrain heading to a campground in Covington, La. Sunset yesterday evening heading back in I-55 at Pass Manchac, La.

 

^^^Brings back memories of getting on the bridge during fog and having to be escorted across the bridge at 20 mph...! ^^^

 

That bridge is scary driving it in bad weather..I drove tanker trucks across that bridge in the 70's and 80's day and night in all kind of weather so I've seen a lot of bad accidents on it. South bound side is too bumpy so I took I-12 to I-55 back to I-10. On a nice day it's a great drive. Where were you living and working when down here?

I guess this mod makes it go faster? Pull better? Duval County special!

 

I've wondered what the point of that mod is.. looks stupid as ***** to me... and since there's no snorkel for the intake, it's not like he's setting it up to go deep..

 

He's just trying to roll coal with the big boys.

Today I took my ATV (on a trailer) up Mount Herman Road to get to Balanced Rock Road trailhead. This is the road on the way up.


This is the road on the way down. My F-350 did well both directions. I thought that the OEM tires (Goodyear Wrangler) did well.

 

Some much needed rain on July 4th. It didn't dampen our spirits and we stayed to watch the fireworks anyway. Made a heck of a mess getting out though.
