Need A Wiring Diagram: Ignition Noise Capacitor

I know you can use a spare points condenser as a noise filter on an ignition coil. Anyone have a wiring diagram?

The capacitor that is part of ignition circuit located on your points prevents arching across the points contacts. In most cases this is the source of and the solution to noise in the ignition. A capacitor is an AC device and is impervious to DC voltage. The case of a capacitor is grounded and the wire is connected to any leg of a circuit that may have an AC component that you wish to filter out. Since one side of the ignition coil is connected to ground via the ignition points, another capacitor could be added to the other pole of the coil to assist in filtering out AC noise.

This is from later year manual but should give some ideas. The value isn't super critical but an ignition condenser (capacitor) is probably too small.

Is that the standard Ford service manual? Mine for the 49 doesn't appear to have that section. Looks like the store of Yankee Ingenuity that I need.

Oh lol, I didn't read close enough,
aluminum casing now I see what your saying.

I know when I pulled the motor a yr or so ago it had a roller 5.0 motor, so not sure what the PO did with this truck. I'm just assuming this is the org ECM to the truck.

What kind of hi-tension wires are you using? In my experience, that is where most of the static comes from. Suppression wires and resistor plugs are likely the cure.
