My custom CTS2 Mount

Thought I would post this up for those of you that hate the windshield mount for your CTS2. Unfortunately I could not locate a pod for my '14 so decided to make my own. Hit a few walls along the way but turned out pretty good. I'm sure it won't appeal to some but suits me just fine.

So for the dash mount I decided to go with ProClip. I used them in my F150, F250 and my wife's cars. Initially I ordered the non-angled version but my mockup showed that the CTS2 was pointing towards the rear seat. The other issue with this one is that the shift lever would hit the CTS2 when in park. I then went and ordered the angled version (~$30). Much better. But a gotcha I will point out below. For attaching the CTS2 to the ProClip I ordered off of Amazon and Arkon Dual T Tab Horizontal plate (~$5). Word of caution here. It will not work out of the box. The yellow RCA on the back of the CTS2 sticks out too much. I simply used my dremel to cut out a notch.

I then mounted the Arkon bracket to the Proclip using the pre-drilled AMP holes. Not a good idea. The cable for the CTS2 stick out too much and hits the dash. I decided to try a 90 degree angle HDMI connector to clear the dash, no dice. Lost half my PID's using the 90 degree HDMI elbow. So I decided to mount the Arkon adapter as high as possible on the Proclip drilling new holes. This proved to be the magic formula. Don't get me wrong, the cable rest firmly on the dash but the CTS2 is rock solid. I can easily see the CTS2, The radio screen and my windshield is free and clear of suction cups. I still need to clean up the wiring across the dash. Not sure what I am going to do with that yet.

Like I said earlier, not for everyone but works for me for under $40 and a bit of my time. Here's a bunch of pictures:
