Wow it don't look all the bad, bed seam looks good can't see any front fender rot like most all these trucks get.
Grill shell etc. hood lip trim will need replacing. And for it being a cs you even have a tail gate which most don't have after all these yrs.
If the other side of the truck looks as good as the drivers side then, I'd say you have a pertty good start on your dream truck.
More pictures would have been nice to see..

Picked this one up last Friday night. My dad bought it new in 68, 1 week before I was born. It was last driven in 85 when he parked it in the airplane hanger because it had developed a tick in the motor.
Fast forward to 2016 and my step family got involved, started selling off everything and this truck disappeared. I found it 2 weeks ago, got it recovered last Friday night and fortunately it's still exactly as he parked it in 85. Even has stack of throw away coffee cups in the trash can from the coffee shop he went to every morning.
68 F100 Ranger, 390 2bbl with an automatic. No AC, no power brakes, no power steering.
As of today she has 5 new tires and valve covers off while we search for the tic in the motor.

These motor did not have harden valve seat which slowly burned out when having to run unleaded fuel. Dirty oil also can cause a lifter to get gum up and start clicking. Best to do a compression test. If fairly low mileage you. can get by with just a valve job an new valve seats. Orich
I was half expecting to find a bent pushrod when I pulled the valve covers but nothing visible when turning them by hand. The intake on #6 doesn't seem to be opening as far as the rest but that's a naked eye observation.

With that much mileage the timing gear nylon teeth start breaking off the the chain get sloppy with timing floating around when idling causes engine to lop some. These also had troubles with the exhaust manifold cracking that also sounded like a ticking noise I’ve seen a few by #6 so look for Carbon line on the exhaust manifold. When you have the engine running with the valve covers off watch the push rods as they must all turn so the lifter don’t get wiped that will damage the cam lobe. These the reason at breaking in the motor they tell to to get the rpms up 1500-1800 so it w get the push rods turning. If a push rod is bent more than 0.20 ths replacement them. Ford made 3 lengths so must replace with same size. Keep looking and you’ll find the problem Good luck
