We had fans until 1958 when they bought the unit for upstairs.

Are you living in the house you grew up in?

Was three years ago when the furnace controls burnt up and the furnace had to be replaced. Was hot and humid and we stayed here, didn't sleep, were outside most of the night.

That sucks Rick. We had that happen back in November with our last furnace. The control board died and it was cheaper in the long run to replace the whole furnce instead of fixing what we had.

Exactly Shaun, that was what we were up against.

Yeah. Sometimes teh repair is almost what it would cost to replace. So better to replace it and not have to worry about it again.

The circuit board was cooked and none to be had. The old furnace had a cracked heat exchanger. We had no choice but to replace.

We could get a new board but by the time he would have gotten all of the adapters to make it work and the labor to replace it it was going to be 700 bucks in parts and labor. He gave us a deal on the new furnace. 1000 bucks installed and he could do it the next day. For only a few hundred dollars difference it was a no brainer to just replace the old one.

Yup! The new furnace has saved a lot on our heating and cooling bills.

We saw that the new furnace helped lower our gas bill this past winter. Will be nice to see what a new a/c system will do.
