Perhaps have to custom order an F350? Color look awful?

I have sent out inquiries to several dealers, and the response comes back pretty uniformly, there exists no such truck.

I really like all the options I have listed, the only one I am not 100% sure of is the color, Green Gem. I traditionally have liked green colors on my cars, but it's hard when you can't even find one locally to look at and preview!

The thing is, I'd order just the XLT, but I found that I couldn't get the moonroof without going to the Lariat package. I preferred cloth seats, which I can't seem to get on Lariat.

The dealers are also telling me I need to go with Adobe leather, because I chose black, (seemed like a cool look), because it is also not a common option.

Is pretty much my only choice custom ordering (again, I custom ordered my 2003), or am I asking for stupid options?

I live in Texas, spend a lot of time out in the fields, hunting, etc, and not only do I generally like green, I feel like it would probably look best out there, when hunting. I don't want a bright red truck sticking out from under the trees.

As ya'll have noted, I'll need to order ASAP to get it accepted by Ford.

Will I screw myself on the cost by custom ordering? I was figuring that in general I could get this truck for around $55k on the lot, except I can't find it on the lot.

That is my favorite current color too! I think if I were ever to buy a brand new truck I would custom order too. Sounds like you should just forget the moonroof and get the XLT, all of that fancy trim sure is costly.

Might consider buying one online, then flying out and driving it back. Just quickly found this one, not sure how its considered NEW with 5000 miles though.

I know the feeling.

I'm looking for an f-450 in royal blue with pearl clear coat in XL with tan cloth interior. the color was last offered in an 08 f-350.

I have the Green Gem Color and love it. At some angles it almost looks black and other angles it sparkles gold from the metallic in the paint.

Yeah, ideally, I wasn't wanting to go all the way to $65k, so I'm going to have to work on getting something close enough.

I think it will help some in that I qualify for the x-plan as well.

I would consider swaping for leather if you were closer. I didn't need all the gadgets that came on it, but sometimes I wish I had it.

I love the ability to seat 6 too though. How fat have you expanded your search? Moonroof is nice, but I would say be willing to budge on that. I feel like I see more 150's than SD with them.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I have seen Gem Green in person and it is a fantastic looking color. Beautiful in the sun.

Thanks everybody.

I decided to stop second guessing myself and just order it. They couldn't guarantee Ford would take it on the 2015, but we'll see.

I pretty much ordered it as I listed in the first post, but decided to omit the rear heated seats and supplemental cab heater, since I live in Texas. I also dropped the dual color option.

If I want to do something like that, I'd be more likely to go redneck and get some fancy camo pattern put on. It'd have to look pretty awesome though for me to do it.

go back and add the supplemental heater...is worth the cost...I live in alabama and it is cold enough here at times to use it....

supplemental heat and rear seat heaters are two items that are pretty much impossible to add after the truck is built....

I would for sure add the supplemental heater...If you have a dog, it might like the rear seat heaters.....lol

if you added the all weather floor mats, remove them.....buy some Husky floorliners after you get the truck...

I would add the fenderwell liners also....they are worth it...might want to add them or buy some later from Ford Accessories or off eBay....

The 40-console-40 seat has flow through ac/heat and also has 120 power plug on it with 12vdc power port......i like the 40-console-40 over the other...odds are you will never have 3 people up front...

Never mind MSRP, Nobody pays invoice. Use the low end TrueCar price and they will come down to that before they let you leave. Ordering the truck is actually the cheapest way to go, unless they have something they just need to get rid of. Mine just took 8 weeks to come in, should have it April 6th if all goes as planned.

Well you have already missed the cut off date to order a 2015. So you may have to either settle or go for the 2016 which is a 2015 but a year newer date and higher price from what I have been told.
As for pricing, X-plan is a good starting point. But, the price can be beat with some knowledge and negotiation skills.
Here is what the dealer local to me advertises on their website. The prices are not games with smoke screens. Just pretty much get it done pricing.

New Ford Super Duty F-350 SRW DeSoto | Dallas TX

In full disclosure my son is the GSM for this dealership.
