Jolly Green Giant...2015 F-350 KR DRW
Thanks all! Yes, a big part of the beauty of ipe is that the boards can be so different in color, texture and grain. The oil just makes it all pop and the final effect is very pleasing.
I know there are a lot of really smart folks on this thread so I would like to draw on your vast store of knowledge and experience to help me solve something.
In a normal year, our RV sits, unattended, at a remote storage yard for probably six months out of the year. Obviously, this year is not normal and so our rig has not moved in over eight months now. During that time it has been exposed to temps well below zero and over 100. Even though it is supposed to be on shore power at the storage yard, we know that the power frequently trips off during storms, etc. and then does not get turned back on. It is about a 45 minute round trip for me to go check on the rig and I try to do that every few weeks, but sometimes I forget and it may be a month or more before I get there.
We have a Winegard ConnecT 4GI wifi router installed on our RV and it is connected to the internet via 4G cellular 7 by 24. I would like to be able to install some kind of remote monitoring capability in the rig that either I could access remotely or that could send me status messages. I'd like to be able to remotely monitor battery condition, shore power, temperature (not as important), etc. It would be great if I could access a security camera remotely like I do for my house.
Anyone have any ideas?

As to the RV, I would suggest to leave it with the battery disconnected completely and the shore power unplugged. An isolated battery won't lose much, about 5% per month for a lead acid, and less for other types. So even if you left it for 4 months, your battery would still be around 80%. Plug it in to charge when you come visit.
Many thanks again to all of you for your kind words. It means a lot! I'm really happy to have that project behind me, but it was therapeutic while it lasted. Frankly, what I really want to do now is to get the RV out of storage and go see some sights with my bride.
I'm convinced that, if folks just take reasonable and basic precautions, that can be done safely. I'd really like to head up into Roy's general direction, or even Canada, and do some serious fishing. We'll see what comes next. Sally wants me to take it easy for a while but, as the saying goes, we're burning daylight.

I honestly don't know. I wondered the same thing as I was typing that post.
Oh.... How is the lifestyle goal going.......
