Why is it that the skinny guys always say that? Thanks Roy, it seems like this project has now taken on a life of its own, but it's really only been about a month since demolition of the old deck began. Besides, what else am I going to do? Hopefully, will get most decking on this week, although we're supposed to get a couple of rainy days towards the end of the week, so who knows. Really, I just want to go camping and fishing, but now must get this done first.

It's a GEORGOUS deck building day here in Colorado. 71 already and headed to 78 today. Just a few high broken clouds now and supposed to be partly cloudy later. My perfect outdoor project day.

Roy, Have a Great Day at the orange store and we'll connect later!

Thanks Chet! Keep those kind cards and letters coming! There are just a remarkable number of steps to install each board and it wears me out. Especially when the progress is so slow.

I'm using concealed ipe clips so that no screws will be showing. That means I have to mark each board against the adjoining board's clips, groove each board with the biscuit joiner, install ipe clips, predrill each clip for its screw, screw down each clip and then groove the opposite side with the biscuit joiner before starting over. Once all the deck boards are installed I have to trim the ends and then install the perimeter trim boards. I figure it is about 20-25 minutes per board.

This deck better last a long time!

That is a lot of work. But you will have the look you want and I'm sure will get questions from others on how you acquired that look. Waiting to see pictures when it is done, God bless,

I know it doesn't look like a ton of progress, but with all the steps it takes for hidden screw installation, I'm averaging about 25 minutes per board. Hope to finish the west half tomorrow. Jeeze, it got hot today. Probably a two gallon water day.

Steve, that looks awesome! But, I must say, that's too much work for me. I'd be screwing them down right through the top. No doubt your way looks much much better though. Nice work!

Trying to keep up with Roy on rv repair,
for about 3 years my furnace would intermittently turn on and stay on until I pulled the fuse. The it would be fine for several trips, then it got worse, after the last trip it stayed on, pulled the fuse, put it back and it still run. Changed the thermostat this morning and it still run continuously.
decided to remove the furnace to test it, removed 1 wall and saw a screwed in panel above the furnace, removed it and found that 1 screw had gone through the control wire. It didn't cut any wires just some insulation. Repaired the installation and all is good.
