stranded help

While driving lost boost, regained, lost boost a mile later, regained. Pulled into gas station no boost everything checks good on scan gauge except VGT is at 85%? Needle won't move off 0 boost. VGT solenoid?

Possibly just remember the VGT may be commanded at 84% for some reason. Also keep in mind the oil to the turbo and vgt is from the low pressure pump.
Compare your VGT desired against the actual.

My IPR and ICP read normal so I would think my oil pressure is good. Turbo was rebuilt about 60,000 back by ford house never had any issues till now.

Exhast Back Pressure sensor? Try unplugging it and see if it builds boost again.

Might check EBP. Stuck vanes/no boost EBP would be very low and build some with throttle. Die off hard when throttle cut.

If you think the turbo froze up I would pull the aircleaner tube and see if the turbo spins. As for 7 mile drive. It should make that with easy driving to get you home. The only failure would be if the turbo has mechanical failure that could run thru the engine.
Or are you saying it dies and won't run now?

I was more referring to the unison ring freezeing back up. If the turbins are froze he has way more problems than just vgt.

Checked MAP connections, hose and VGT. Unplugged EBP have turbo back. How long can I run without EBP?
