I'll probably just add it to this one. My son came over to the shop this weekend and helped, and we got everything off the parts cars that I thought I might need. I have a couple parts I'm going to pull off another Mustang I bought, but it is in the barn and I'll probably just wait till I need them to pull them off. I loaded the 64 last night to take it to the shop, but it's raining today so I'll wait till it stops to take it. Afraid I'll melt. LOL

2x Orich : I wouldn't have thought about wording it that way, but you are right on the money. It's a good way to spend the kids inheritance, and take your mind off everything while your doing it. LOL

I finally got started on some of the body work on the Mustang, I knew There was some rust around the back glass and found it was worse they I thought, but all the inter frame work is good just some surface rust.

After cutting lots of spot weld I got the old panel out, then cleaned it up and primed.

New panel in place and plug welded.

Next starting on a door I pulled off of a parts car.

Hay, I might need you to come help on mine. All joking aside the car was rebuilt in the mid 90's and garage keep after that. The quarter's, torque box's and cowl area was all replaced then and are still in good shape.

I've started on the drivers door, the one on the car had some pin holes on the bottom inside of the door, so I decided to use one off one of the parts cars. It had some surface rust, and a dent but no holes. It's close to being ready for epoxy.

It's kind of naked all right, I hope to get time this week to get the other one the same way. While I have them off and still striped down I'm batting the idea around of shaving the door handles. I bought everything to do it on the truck, then decided not to. Anyway lots of ideas rolling around in this old head.

I got the interior pulled out of the Mustang, then got into some more rust repair. I knew the rain gutter was rusty at the A-pillar, but it was worse then I thought, and the one on the parts car that I'm stripping was just as bad. So I decided to shave the gutters. I have a little more to do on the passenger side I will finish tomorrow, they start the drivers side.

This is the bottom of the gutter at the A-Pillar after I got the weather stripping off and cleaned up.

I cut the gutter about every 6" and removed the gutter between every other cut, I welded that then cut out the remaining pieces and finished welding. The roof is put together the same way our trucks are, you have three layers of metal at the gutter.

I still have a little more grinding to do, but this side is almost ready for filler and smoothing.

That looks pretty good. Gutter removal in the 6" method works great, huh? My roof didn't move at all.
Looking good there!
