Production numbers?
Hmmm, well the 1942 section says that the total production numbers are unavailible.
In 1945 there were...
19,706 pickups
564 chassis and cabs
230 chassis and cowls
59 chassis and W/S
345 stakes
1946
3187 sedan deliveries
4239 chassis and cabs
5539 7.5 ft. panel
75088 pickups
1258 chassis and cowls
932 chassis and windsheilds
2310 stakes
In 1947 only the sedan deliveries number is availible in the with 3484 units.
Maybe someone can fill in the blanks. Hope this helps!

Hey Junkman, welcome to FTE and the 1947 & Older forum.
I don't think you're going to be able to find out how many were made. As Clayton posted above "the 1942 section says that the total production numbers are unavailible". 1942 was the official year of the US and Ford's involvement in WWII. I doubt you will find much information at all on your '42, but I wish you the best of luck.
If you do find any info on your year truck, it would be great if you'd share it with us.

Clayton hasn't been around in about 6 years now. Please note those numbers he gave are US production numbers, the Canadian numbers are usually quite a bit smaller.
Honestly there is no way to really know how many of a particular model truck is still around, for sure the manufacturers don't keep track of that.
I would jump over to the '48-'56 group on here, there are a few guys there with F-47s.
It's a great looking truck, good luck with your info search.
