I believe the steering box is from a later model f100, the hydraulic pump is a GM type. PO had done it, I had the steering box rebuilt and the column put in.

That's a great looking interior, and it looks like the rest is being done with the same attention to detail. Nice job!

Is the Ididit steering column shorter than the factory column?

The Ididit "Retrofit" columns are meant to be the same length as the original columns I believe. They don't make a "retrofit" column for my model year (62) so I have nothing to compare theirs to. I plan to use their 65-66 column as the measurements seem to work out and I can keep the factory steering wheel. When I spoke to someone at Ididit, they listed the 65-66 at 30" and the 67-70 at 31". Not sure if that helps or not. I have the new P/S box installed now. Once I get the body back on the frame I will order the column and have a better idea of it all.

Thanks for the info. The one thing I would love to change is the length of the column in my 66’
I think it sticks out a lot further than it actually should. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I know it's an old thread but now there is the Prius electric assist power steering option. I'm going to use it on a '76 on a Crown Vic frame with R&P and gut the rack down to manual. (I know I'm in the '61 to '66 section. I got lost over here from the 48-56 section looking for '61 steering box info)
