not really... rather be welding... but not sure i really want to work for anyone to do that... right now this is payin the bills and will eventually get my debts paid back..

 

short of being there a few more yearrs i prolly wont see another increase in pay...

yup.. but no room for projects atm.. unfortunately... id like to get some other welding equipment for touchier things.. but havent been able to afford it yet...

 

You thought about getting a PT job welding... even for the experience and/or just extra $$ for something you enjoy?

tried to get it as a career.. but was stuck in the catch 22... need experience to get the job.. but cant get a job to get the experience...

 

THats' why I suggested a PT gig... there are plenty of places looking for welders... and may not pay well... but get that all invaluable experience that they seek.. plus can buy more car parts with the extra cash

everyone here wants only experience ppl.. and with all the military bases in the area and the shipyards.. they can get all the retiree's they want that dont really care what theyre making to get llittle extra $$$ and yet still get exp ppl...

 

Surely there has to be somewhere.. just go in and talk to some guys

have.. hence why i didnt have work for 6 years.. the only places here with the apprenticeships are the shiipyards... and theyre not even hiring anymore due to the BS going on in the govt atm

 

2 of them have already closed for good because of the govt contract cutbacks...

 

i had hoped to jump into the ford truck plant that was here.. but they closed that the same year i started welding.. and since that closed the areas steadily gotten worse..
