Wheel/Tire and Lift Questions, 2000 F250

Just got a new to me 2000 F250 CCSB 4x4 and I want to do a few things to it, looking for advice from those that have already done this and know the right combination of offset, backspacing and lift.

It has a 4" shackle and block lift right now with about 35" tires that rub the leafs before full lock. I want to get rid of the lift, I just want stock height, but level. What are my options to do this? If I put it back to stock, will it be level or would I need 2" shackles for the front or what?

I also want to get smaller tires, I think I want 17x9 wheels and 285/70-17 tires. What would the proper offset and backspacing be? I'd prefer to have them flush with the wheel wells and I'd rather have them stick out a bit than be inside the wheel well too much.

I'm looking at this wheel, how will it look with 0 offset? Any pictures of similar size wheels/tires with this offset?

Thanks!

Anyone know if the wheel in the above post will fit right and not be too far inside the wheel well? I found a really good deal on a similar wheel and want to buy them, they only have 4 left, so I need to act quick!! Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

I've seen this wheel on several F250s... I want the same wheel on my (new to me 2000 F250 CCSB).

Where you located? I want the 4" kit w/ 35s. I'm stock height and level now. Running a 295/75/16 though.

I think I've seen that wheel available with a -12 offset as well, but I'm wondering if the 0 offset will be ok. The 0 offset is on sale right now in a similar style wheel.

I'm in phoenix.

with 285's a zero offset will probably have you just at or inside the wheel wells. i run 285/75R16 on 16x10 wheels with i'm guessing -12 offset (bought them used), and the tires are right even with my small'ish fender flares.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I was figuring, but just needed some reassurance! Took the chance and ordered them, can't pass up the deal that I found and they only have four left, we'll see if they fill the order.

I was told DO NOT get spacers between the wheel and hub as it could cause damage. If that is one of your options look into it before buying the spacers.

Thanks, I agree 100%, I would never put spacers on any vehicle, I once bought a quad that had them, the first thing I did was remove them!!

the pic in my avatar is a stock f250. where i put a f350 factory block in the rear and run f350 snow plow prep springs in the front (2600# capacity IIRC)

ran monroe magnum shocks and 17x9 rims with 285/70/17 tires. no rub and the truck sat level

I think I have the wheel/tire combo figured out, now on to the suspension.

I want the truck at about stock height and level. How do I accomplish this on the front? Right now I think there is just a shackle/hanger lift which is probably 4", what parts do I need for just a good 2" front lift?

When I was under the truck I checked out the rear, I couldn't believe how they lifted it... I figured a 4" block, but no, there were two blocks stacked!! I don't know if this is normal, but I would never do it myself. I guess it makes it easier for me now though, just remove one block and it should be stock height in the rear I assume.

So, what say you? What are my options for the front, what about the trac bar, how do I know what parts are stock and what has been changed?
