I am using evans waterless coolant system. It requires no additives ever and it last for 500,000 miles or so. Do a search for it.

Your truck is a 99 so it should of had green coolant. The red or gold coolant is extended life coolant and is not compatble with the seals in that engine. You need to flush your cooling system, get low silicate antifreeze and FW-16 additive.

When I changed my coolant I didn't relize the PSD was so picky, and I put the wrong stuff in it... I drained out the new coolant, researched the recommended specs, and put Max Life , made by Valvoline in it with FW-16 additive. According to their Web site, Max Life match recommended specs...I'm not going to drain it again ...

Does anyone know what kind of coolant is a 01' PSD? It is getting to be that time to change mine and I don't want to buy the wrong kind. Also what is a good brand to get?

I got 10,000 miles on my evans waterless coolant so far and i dont think it would hurt your seals. Read up on it. https://www.evanscooling.com/main23.htm

I dont have any affiliation with them i just didnt want to go through the hassle of deciding what to use and adding sca`s all the time.
