How does it idle? Also you can unplug the ICP sensor (it is located at the front of the passenger side valve cover, sticking straight out of the valve cover) at idle and see if how it runs changes

It is the black cylinder that has two metal lines running to it and the ICP sensor connection comes out towards the exterior of the truck? Or is that something for the AC? Idles rough sometimes and then other times perfect.

No, thats for the AC. The ICP is just a little sensor, that you can see in this picture. you can just unplug the connector and see what happens.

Also, do you still have your factory EGR system in place?

Not trying to bust your chops or anything but the only filters you should be running are motorcraft/racor oil and fuel filters and motorcraft air filters, the reason it is ok to run the racor filters is because they make the filters for motorcraft. Here is a youtube video that explains some of the differences,

Oh wow, i somehow mixed up two threads with similar problems, thought you had a 2005. On our 2003s, the ICP sensor is behind the turbo. This is a little more challenging, and i wouldnt go crawling back there just to unplug it

OK just went and picked up the ScanGauge II. I guess I can wait until tomorrow for your help but I am going to plug it in and at least do the set up part in the quick guide.

Let us know what the FICM value is, and what the IPR and ICP values are at cold idle and hot idle

Ok some results for ya. I started her up and it gave me cold idle. Then I drove it around a bit and warmed the engine up and got the hot idle. Let me know what you think and hopefully it isn't horrible news.

Cold idle
FMP 48.0
VGT 83
EOT 96
ICP 750
IPR 26.7

Hot Idle
FICM 48
VGT 54
EOT 166
ICP 642
IPR 25.0

Any thoughts? Thanks again.

Values look pretty good. Did the scangauge give you any codes? Sometimes they aren't the best at reading codes on these...do you have a buddy with an SCT tuner? Or some type of computer car scanning program

It gave me no codes... And I don't know anyone with an SCT tuner. Should I have bought one of those instead of this thing? They had one for sale at AutoZone for nearly 300 or something....

No, this is better for monitoring. One that easily does both is like $400+... I prefer the scangauge. Autozone can probably scan it for you

Might have asked this already but do you still have the egr system in place?
