Changing the seals on a C6?

My Tranny is leaking like crazy... Its a 1974 C6 (2 Wheel Drive) behind a 360FE. How hard is it to change the front and rear seals on the tranny? Do you need any special tools? Ive never pulled a Ford Tranny so I just want to see what Im up against before I start down that path... It shifts great but just leaks like crazy.

No special tools required, but to change the front seals you'll need to drop the transmission.
If you do drop the trans. don't replace just the torque converter seal (p/n C2AZ-7A248-A) also replace the pump seal (C6AZ-7A248-A) and the pump to housing gasket (C6AZ-7A136-A).

Extension housing seal is D5AZ-7052-A (replaced C3AZ-7052-A).

Parts catalog refers to both 7A248 seals as front pump seals. C6AZ-7A248-A is actually an o-ring (9 1/2" I.D. x 10 5/16" O.D.).

That's because if you pull the pump with the trans horizontal the clutch plates inside will drop and you can't reinstall unless the transmission is in a vertical position.
