Is there a "how to change out an oil cooler" thread somewhere? I'm not ready to change it, but it appears I'll need to get down to it to do the reverse flush of the oil cooler, and am curious as to what all has to come off to get there.

Funny! Looks like we were typing at the same time. I'll look it over. Skill set is iffy, time is the major problem. Dang coolant is green.

Dude, you're some kind of website savant! Pretty cool with the star thing. I read over that yesterday, but it really doesn't show how to get down to where you start with the reverse flush. I've got to start at the starting place.

Yeah, that picture answered a lot of questions, but mainly proved I ain't got time for all that take down. Can that port for the reverse flush be accessed without all that takedown, or is all that going to be necessary? Recall, I have no EGR.
By the way, I was digging around in there tonight and found a snap on connector with nothing on it that came from the general area of where the EGR was. Think that might the EGR valve connector?

Yes, I believe that's it! I'll re-eyeball it tomorrow. Now, am I just buying a new EGR and plugging it in, or an I taking that plate they put over the opening and actually reinstalling it? Also, Matt wrote my tunes for no EGR. Do I need a rewrite now?

Yes, you can reach that port. You will need to create some sort of plug to put the hose into the port. There was a guy that was doing a lot of flushing to reduce his temps.

part #s for new o-rings and hose if you need it too.

Coolant hose for egr cooler - 4C4Z-8592-AA

Inner O-ring for outlet port - 3C3Z-9N693-FA

Outer O-ring for outlet port - 3C3Z-9N693-EA

Anyway, here is a photo of the port to access.

See that one torx bolt just under the edge of the turbo? You will need a short wrench to get that out. One person epoxied the torx bit into a little wrench. Might want to stick some small rags around the open areas where little torx bits can fall. You may not get them back until you need to remove, let say a turbo!!! I got 2 of mine back at that point! Pull off the CAC tube.

Maybe you can get a EGR Valve from the Salvage yarrd

some use the Blocker plate then lay the egr valve in there and zip tye it

Mine is Deleated (Cooler is GONE)but the EGR Valve is Instaled in its Bore and plugged in this way it Looks closer to stock

As far as the Tunes as far as I know all the tune does is Keep the CEL Off ypou might want to take that up with Matt

Matt reports that he always prefers to leave the EGR valve in and that all of his programs are written for it to be in place. He said I will not need a rewrite. My plan now is to get an EGR back on it and see if that affects the fan and cools it off. If so, I'll just get the green coolant out and let it run. If not, wash out time.
