Thankyou, this was very helpful but i need to look into my engine. I thought i was dealing with a 391? The remainder makes sense. The truck also has a PTO but im not sure if that would have appeared in the decode.
Thanks again!
I don't know if the 391 was available with 4WD, the PTO is aftermarket as Ford never offered it for any truck.
This is a Buck Tag used by assembly line workers to assure the correct parts that match the build sheet are installed. Codes on Buck Tags usually cannot be decoded.
This appears to be an F100 Pickup w/a 302. If so, you're asking this question is the wrong forum, this forum is for 500 and larger series BIG trucks.
Please ask questions in the forum that applies to whatever year this pickup is (1967/72; 1973/79; 1980/86).
I hope you can tell me about this dump truck. It is at our family camp on the lake and my father in law passed. Truck worked perfect until someone drove it without oil in it. Thanks. That’s a little farther than I got. Unfortunately the previous owner taped over the door labels to paint and now they don’t want to come off. Any other markings I can look for? The previous owner told me it was a

Any other markings I can look for? There are tags on the axle and trans, but that's about it.

Use some lacquer thinner to remove the tape. The Certification Label is composed of a clear outer layer, the inner layer has all the codes printed on it.
You cannot peel this label off. If you attempt to, the outer layer will come off taking some/all of the inner layer along with it.
It cannot be an L9000 w/a U80 VIN series code. There's no 8.3L Cummins listed for any 1980/89 truck.
Most private sellers haven't a single clue how their vehicles are equipped.
