im happy with the way it came out, id rather have extra strength than cut out an entire cross member when i dont have to, i finished the welding, and its painted up. i dont have a pic of the final product of x members but the engine is bolted in with no clearance issues. except for the p/s pump to box, and the steering shaft to manifold. uh oh. will post pics later

Im digging the project. I have similar plans for my 78 super c.
I was worried about frame strength. I was considering fish plating the outside of the frame a ft or two with the motor mounts towards the middle.
It might not be needed. i know the 7.3 is a few 100 lbs heavier. might not be a big deal, i just know my truck has been airborn before

Hey everyone sorry I haven been updating but the truck has come a long way. Listen I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find 4 inch lift springs for the rear. I'm doing a swap one ton 14 bolt and I don't want to keep the junk factory springs so I was going to take factory block out and get 4 inch springs? Anyone have a link I'm having trouble finding just the rear springs. Ill add some pics soon

For ride and comfort grab a set of springs off a newer 1 ton chevy and do a shackle flip.

What did you ever do about that rust/corrosion over the passenger side door on the roof? I have the SAME thing on my truck and it's surprised me too...
