Why can't I do a burnout, with my standard?

Or 500 horses to the rear wheels and you can do it in 3rd.
And instead of water use milk with food coloring in it.
A red, white and blue smoke show should impress em'.

Your just going to destroy your truck. As the others have said, you want to do burn outs go get something more suited. further more the girls are not going to be impressed with you doing a burn out in an old truck. I found it is better to be a smooth talker, or a good looker, so you need to guess which you are and start promoting that. Destroying your truck in front of everyone is just going to make you look like a dork.

Haaaahaaaahaaaa to all you guys..... hilarious. 1. I'm aware there aren't too many girls that enjoy a nice burnout, but I'm looking for that one. 2. I've built the truck for hot ******* around and showing off, it's done it quite well in the past.
All I was wondering is where the sweet spot lies in my setup. I've tried all the gears, alot of different RPMs, and alot of different ways to let out the clutch. I do get alot of wheel hop, that seems to be the issue. Where there used to be a nice smooth burn, now it's chirp BANG chirp BANG chirp BANG. What's causing that, as opposed to a nice steady scream, in the exact same truck that used to do em great?

What causes the wheel hop is the rear leaf springs twisting! Your gonna need a good set of traction bars or cal tracs if ya wanna do a wicked burnout. Best way to get the wheels goin is to take the Rpms up to 2500 and dump the clutch and shift through the gears. But if you keep it up youll prolly drop the drive shaft, explode the clutch, break the input shaft on the trans or kill the rearend. I drag race and burnouts are very rough on the engine and rearend. But put a video up I always like watching burnouts.

I'm pretty sure you're truck isn't made to do burn outs, and I'm more sure that Henry Ford would be rolling in his grave if he knew what you are attempting and I am POSITIVE that no girl will be impressed with you ruining your classic truck to gain her affection no matter how much hair she has on her chest. Please sell your truck to someone who will appreciate it and not ruin it trying to be an idiot. Go buy a chebby and impress the dumb girls. Your almost 40 year old truck doesn't deserve the death it will receive by some teenage moron, and do us all a favor and spare your truck the torture and just drive it off a cliff for us, and atleast it will die an honorable death and erase the moron with it........

Wow, this place has gotten weird.....
Teenage moron? I'm a 21 year old Cornell student. I weld in my off time and it's my work truck, and I can't afford to insure another vehicle, so it's my fun car too. I'm aware I'm doing damage..... I've put in 4 engines.
I want a driver, and a driver in my eyes is something I can beat the p!ss out of when I want to. They made millions of these trucks, and mine's no gem. I did however save it from the scrapper when I originally bought it, and with each MASSIVE repair I've done since, so don't lecture me on wasting history.
What's your problem? What happened to hotrodders that actually like to drive? Smoke a J n relax, you're in California......
