I am thinking on trying to find one of the center consoles from a 2011-12 super duty and installing it in my 2002 Lariat.

Has anyone done this before? I know there will be some serious wiring changes, but I sure like this later type design better than the single deep box I have now.

 

No one has made any comments so I am guessing this is a bad idea. So how about any custom made consoles?

Anyone have any ideas or pictures?

 

I swapped out the jump seat in my 2011 for a center console in a 2012. I dont know if it will help you out in any way, but here is the thread with some photos of what it looks like.
Also, unless you can find someone willing to trade, or sell theirs cheap, the parts cost about $1,600 to buy it. Lucky for me there was a member who wanted to do a trade so I got off cheap!

Thanks for the reply. Your pictures have convinced me that a console from the newer SD is not going to work in my 2002. The way the front of the console is constructed I could never get it to fit up right against my dash.

I guess building a complete custom one is the only way to go. The "West Coast Custom" show makes it look easy.....just get some cheap wood and start cutting! Anybody have pictures I could cheat off of?
