76 4x4 Axle ID help

I bought a 76 F250 4x4 for parts. Working 390, 4 spd. Working through the data plate I am puzzled.
F25MPC51369
WB-133 ; Color: M; Body: ED4; Trans:A(New Process 435; Axle: 22J (Dana 61, maybe 3.07 ratio. J= power steering.)
6200 GVW; Built 6/1976.
But- what I have is a 4x4.
Has this been converted from a 4x2?
Where would transfer case and front axle info be rated?
The rear axle has a readable plate: 4:10; D3TA-MA. This does not come up on my code list. Then: 663382411 whatever this is....

Front Axle: has a casting "44 6CF" from the numbers I have this is either a 3.54 or 4.09 ratio with locking hubs.
Any ideas ??

Well according to your data (VIN) plate... Your truck should be a rear wheel drive F250. But, it is possible that one of the previous owner's of your truck changed the driver's side door & didn't put the old data plate on or one of the previous owner's converted your truck to 4x4.

You might want to get ahold of Numberdummy. He used to be a parts counter worker for a Ford dealership back in the day. He can help more than I can.

This is an old ranch truck that has alot of heavy iron plate stick welded on to it in places. It has been used! Bill is great at deciphering these plates.

That don't surprise me. Yeah, I've seen Numberdummy's work here on FTE. His word is golden. I can give you a link to my front axle question if you think that it would help.

I had forgotten to consider the door change out . I think you are right. I'll just have to do some crawling and scratching on the axles and the transfer case to get the casting details and go with that information.
Shoot me that link link info if you will.

Here is my front axle question thread : https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-f250-4x4.html.

This thread has no information about the transfer case. If your looking for the frame VIN... It should be on the passenger side near the alternator. But, I could be wrong so don't quote me on the piece of information.

Thanks for the link. I think that I, too, have the 44 front 60 rear.

F25MPC51369 / WB-133 / Color: M / Body: ED4 / Trans: A (New Process 435) / Axle: 22J (Dana 61 3.07 ratio), J (power steering) / 6200 GVW / Built 6/1976
F25 = F250 2WD Pickup / M = 390 4V / P = Twin Cities MN Assembly Plant / C51369 = 1976 // 133" Wheelbase / M = Wimbledon White / ED4: ED = Red all Vinyl / 4 = Styleside Pickup.

No, left door has been replaced. Not uncommon among surviving trucks.

The rear axle has a readable plate: 4:10; D3TA-MA / Then: 663382411 whatever this is. Mish-mash Dana ID number.

Ford ID number: D3TA-MA / Dana ID number: 603382-11 = Dana 60 / 4.10-1 / No Limited Slip.

Front Axle: has a casting "44 6CF" from the numbers I have this is either a 3.54 or 4.09 ratio with locking hubs.
Likely scenario, the left door has been replaced. The VIN on the Warranty: 2WD, what other codes don't match? Is the truck white w/a red seat?

Compare the VIN on the Warranty Plate to the VIN on the registration to the hidden frame to see if they all match.

Peeps replaced damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% of the time, they failed to install the original Warranty Plate on the replaced door.

1968/76 F100/250 4WD: Only available V8: 360 2V / 390's were not available with 4WD.

Thanks Bill;
The truck is white with a red interior but the door has to have been replaced. I looked on the frame rail near the alternator for a second VIN number but haven't seen one.
Not real important. I wanted to verify the axles and it does have a 390 with a 4 speed.
Thanks so much for all the data you share. I bought the Ford CD with all the parts decoding info- but it is still not easy.
