I'm going to assume you meant the HPOP not the HPFP. If it's the fuel pump, it's on the frame under the drivers door. Pretty straight foward.

If it's the HPOP (witch makes more since for $3K) then it's under the turbo. Just do a search on how to change out the HPOP and you will find what your looking for. You said ford told her it's the HPOP (still assuming thats what your actualy talking about)? Just asking because that is a pretty over diag part. They don't fail very often, but it could very well be the problem. Hard to say from this side of the screen.

Ya, I'm not sure if she meant oil pump or fuel pump. It is her husbands truck and he is more of a gearhead than her. He has had class all day today but she was going to get info on it and hopefully I'll know more tomorrow. Just wanted to get some background information before I started really asking her about buying the truck.

And I have an 08 6.4 now, so all the acronyms start getting bundled up between my truck, friends 7.3s and other coworkers 6.0s... (and there are a few cummins and dmax's in the group, but they don't count ).

So I am picking it up from him for $1500. It will be a few weeks before my coworkers husband and I have similar free time, but then it will be off to working. He mentioned that the dealership told him that it was the standpipes and dummy plugs and something else (I couldn't understand on the phone).

Anyway, here's a picture of the truck being loaded up after it broke
