Clothes Hooks

Has anyone found a solution to improve the clothes hooks above the rear window? I find them to be nearly useless for clothes hangers. I searched but didn't find any answers. Maybe there is some other attachment that I'm missing.

I hear you on that one. If you hang something back there you can't see out the back window. What ever happened to the one's that are on the side by the doors?

I got one of the cloths bar that extend from Wally world that are in the auto section of the store to fit over the two hooks by the rear doors, it wouldn't stay on as a perfect fit so I took a couple of zip ties to secure it there and it's been in place for a couple of years now. Keeps the jackets and shirts hanging behind the drivers seat. Buy the thicker hangers for heavier jackets or the thin one will just stretch and fall.

Scraprat, pics please....
oh, is this on a previous model year ?!? yes, easy enough if over the rear doors on the side, but the 2012's (at least) have the hooks on the back wall over the rear window,
so it doesn't lend itself to a bar from side to side like I've had in my last ten vehicles !

I used the bar to hang my dry cleaning on.... which would be 20 or 30 items every other week...
guess I can always lay them in the bed in back with the 5th wheel hitch !!!!

Has anyone come up with a solution yet. I really miss my bar that I had in my previous F-250.

I also use a Wally World clothes bar, It hangs between the hooks and provides a closet-like bar to hang your clothes on.

That is what I previously used, but in the 2012 f-250 the hooks are in a differant place so the standard bar will not work.

Add me to the list of owners who are unhappy to find that the side hooks have been moved to the rear of the truck.

Hmmm,
since we have wind noise anyway, maybe roll down the rear windows and hang the cross bar from window to window ?!?!

Just a guess here but the moving of the hooks to the back of the cab may have had something to do with the curtain airbags in the 2011+ trucks and the safety factor. For instance, if there was anything hanging on the hooks or a clothes bar in place, it could cause problems / injuries if an airbag deployed into it.

I'd bet on your guess!

Having the hook in the back does not bother me as much as the fact that the hook itself is useless. I know it is designed to prevent someone from hitting his head on it but it's difficult to actually get a clothes hanger on it. A simple thing but something I use all the time.

Just got my new 2013 in, count me in the group that hates the new hangers. I travel every week for work, sometimes 2-3 weeks at at time and have to take weeks worth of clothes. Let me know if any of you find a solution. Terrible decision to move them.
