I remember this shop that was next to the one I worked at. It rained heavily that night, making a big puddle in the parking lot. This guy comes into work and punches it through the puddle getting his brakes wet. He tried to stop in the parking stall in front of him, but couldn't stop because his brakes were full of water and he went through the fence into this big shed. There was chunks of vinyl fence all over the parking lot.

The shed had a cement foundation that came up 2 feet then went to siding. It barely took a chunk out of the foundation, but creamed the Bronco. It had a push bumper on it even, it was all pushed into the radiator.

My most embarrassing time on my truck was I started it letting it warm up. Well it died after a minute, so I started it again and it died. So I cussed it out a little, then noticed it's not getting gas. I pumped it a bunch of times and tried some more, nothing. So I replaced the fuel pump and tried some more, still nothing. My brother gets under the truck and taps on the gas tank, empty. I ended up putting gas in it and changing the tank selector valve and she fired right up. What made it really suck was that it was snowing the entire time.

Well, the rollbar currently in my truck was interesting to put in. I decided I could put it in myself (3.5" diameter, 3/8" walled tubing, easily outweighed me at the time). My brilliant plan was to pull the bar towards the cab (PULL, not push). It was all fine and dandy until the rear bars were going over the wheel wells and I realized that 1. I'm in the way and 2. I can't get out... Bar had me pinned against the back of the cab.

Yep. I'm an idiot.

Another time I was using a handyman jack and lifting up the front end (when I had the huge black diamond plate bumper on it) and when I was letting it back down, for some reason I had a lapse in judgement and I let go of the handle. It launched out of the jack, hit the hood, roof, hazard light, and two of the marker lights, and damn near took out the windshield, too. It twirled through the air, and it was cool to watch, until it did the damage to the truck.

Ok here it is....I am setting inside my new parts truck 2wd 79 Crew Cab, no eng, trans and we are going to dead roll it off my brotherlaws bumper pull 18' ft/3 ft dove tail trailer with drop down ramps. I have done this before, no problems, right......

I know the brakes work, had to use them when we rolled it onto the trailer. The bed has 2 spare engines and a auto trans in it, and a bunch of other parts (no tailgate), so he pulls the chalk and away I roll very slowly.

Now I suddenly gain a little speed, but no big deal I will be off the trailer in a sec. When about 3/4 the way off the trailer, truck slams to a dead stop.

All the weight and the angle of the upcoming ground, the drop plate on the rear bumper dug in the ground like a home sick gofer. About then I realised that the seat I am setting in IS NOT bolted in as I almost flip over backwards, and all the stuff in the bed slides out into a big pile.

Brother inlaw falls down laughing, I realize I just gave myself whip lash....Ah the love of Fords, pain and laughter in the same day.

My Buddies 78 ( I think)

I wasn't used to driving an older truck with a carb on it and was watching his place for him. He asked me to do something with his truck (not sure why I was even driving it), but I flooded it right before the fuel in the carb ignited. Not "a little ignited", but A LOT! When I do something I don't screw around. Scared the crap out of me because I thought i was going to burn my friends truck to the ground. Got the fire out and all was good.
