Dana 44 ball joint poly dust boots
So I couldnt find poly dust boots made for this specific application so I valiently set out to find something that would work. Here is what I came up with; I hope no one else already found something better.
Basically I took my knuckle w/ ball joints to a performance parts store where they actually carry stuff since none of the big box ya-hoos were of any use. It seems like Energy Suspension tie rod end boot 9.13119G was the best fit.
Here you can see why I had no faith in the existing boots:
Here are the boots side by side...
These are non-greasable ball joints so I was sure to pack them the best I reasonably could. Yes they were a little dry before this but thats due to all the washing I did while prepping for paint; the joints are still very serviceable.
And wa-la... Here they are on. The hole on top is a little tight which is good so water doesnt get in; a little grease and it will gently be coaxed on. They are also a little tall but I figure they should nicely squish once I put this on the axle; if height is an issue I will simply carefully cut it down a little with a razor.
This isnt like the mod of the year or anything but if anyone else is looking for replacement ball joint boots this is the best approach I could come up with rather than using cheap rubber ones which will rot off in a year.

Good question... I figured good solid OEMs were better than the chinese variation aftermarket replacement and I dont currently have the $ for $50 per for a decent brand. These have no play in them so plenty of life left... And they were free. When I took the spindles, that was all PNP charged me for. Got lots of goodies at no charge.
