Puzzling Color Code on 1957 F100
#31
I am from Wyoming originally, and went home on leave. That's when I started messing with my 57. I am stationed in Oklahoma at Fort Sill. It is an army post, but all Marine artillery training is conducted here as well. I am an Artillery Gunnery instructor, but will soon take the Operations Officer billet.

He's still tough. When we first met, we discussed the mistakes made at Peleliu. I've read several books about it, he was there.
He said..."you don't know the half of it, because written words cannot express it."

I found this thread while deciphering the data plate, riveted to the '57's glove box door.
AFAIK, it's: F100, 223/1bbl, 1957, San Jose plant, sequence number, Colonial White from 19Jun, 3-spd manual w/3.70 diffy, GVR=5000; 126HP @ 4000 RPM.
Correct?
Sure wish I could find a 'sticky' or such stating what this tranny is. I need to change the speedo gear, now that a 3.10 resides in the 9".

" You've been reading too many of Col Flashman's posts. He's the only FTE member I'm aware of that calls the glove box the dispatch box. That's what it's called in the UK, maybe Canada, but not here in the US of A."
Just like to say that back here in the mother country we've had gloveboxes in our cars since they put a door on a shelf to keep our driving gloves and leather helmets in. The only place you'll find a dispatch box over here is with the gas bags in the houses of parlaiment Lol,- must be the canadians
