One of a few things if you are blowing the boots off, incorrect installation, worn boots or over boost. Make sure everything is clean, no oil residue then add hair spray when you assemble to help.

Yea the boots are all old and oil soaked, and all have tears in them. I can hardly get te clamps to stay on without sliding off the boots. Been good for a few days running my tune again

Where does the oil that gets on the outside of the boots come from? This sounds like an even stupider question now that I've typed it. There doesn't seem to be oil "flying around the engine compartment, and the boots are the only thing with oil on them. The one on the hot side of the cooler will look "moist" at times. I've only driven this new to me vehicle about 3 fuel tanks worth, so I'm still discovering things.

There is a crank case ventalation system that comes out of the drivers side valve cover, it feeds into the air intake, pre-turbo. So a fine mist of oil eventually becomes a mess throughout the intercooler piping. You can do a CCV reroute so it doesnt go through the pipes but i havent gotten around to it

So, if there is oil on the outside of the boots, is it pretty safe to assume there is a hole in the boots then? It seems to drive fine, but I have nothing to compare it to.

The holes are very minute. Under boost pressure they stretch and open up the pores, letting out boost pressure and any oil trapped within. The boots will appear to be sweating oil. You won't feel a difference until the boots completely fail and either rip apart or just blow off the pipes.

Thanks for the info, guess ill have to add those to the list. This truck still has the plastic intake side, so maybe all that will get changed at the same time.

I changed out my fuel pump and without a doubt it was the easiest fuel pump I have ever replaced.

The truck got it's quarterly bath and I went a bet more into it and
cleaned the hidden side of the doors and the seals.

You know your truck is dirty with you can play tic-tack-toe on the side.
Now it clean and you can't. Now I have to do the glass and vacuum it.

Installed a Carli leveling kit, which included an adjustable track bar, new springs with Bilsteins all around. Replaced all five ball joints and all new axel and hub seals. Took to alignment shop it was right on all they had to do was adjust the steering wheel.
