Hello forum members! I'm new to the site but have always been a ford suv owner. I recently acquired an 01 escape with a blown 3.0. I'm having trouble finding a decent priced replacement engine but there are a ton of ford taurus engines for sale. I know it has been covered by a few forum members but I've read mixed reviews on whether or not the head has to be removed to install the top engine mount. I've read that it might be possible to do just by switching out the timing cover. Can anyone give me an exact rundown of what I'd need to swap? I was considering purchasing a taurus engine an an escape timing cover online. Any response would be appreciated. thanks in advance!
