Mystery Interior Leak

Spent most of the day trying to get the Latex tubing needed for the weather strip mod. Home Depot sold it in 10 foot lengths (yellow) for $17.95. 10 feet is obviously too short and $1.79 a foot! Really! Found Black tubing at a fishing supply store but it was extra thick. It may have worked out better but it was $1.05 a foot. So, it's off to the internet world.... I am finding 50 feet for around $32 with free shipping. Do I buy the thin wall or thick wall? I just rewatched the video and it looks like thin wall so that what I will get... Well that supplier won't work it says may not be in continious lengths, What? Still looking...
Here's what I used and it's latex surgical tubing Link This is the most durable stuff you can use for this application.
I think I may have referred to it as something other than latex surgical tubing earlier. Not sure though. Sorry if I created any confusion on that.
Hope this helps.

Mine came on a spool exactly as you see pictured on the ebay listing in my link. I honestly don't remember if there was a continuous spool of 50ft. I think there may have been one break throughout the 50 ft., but it's been so long I can't be 100% certain.

Well I did the surgical tubing mod and my leak was still there. So the next culprit would be the rear sliding window or third brake light seal.
I pulled the rear seat, plastic molding and pulled back the carpet and slid back the bed canopy. I could see where the water was coming in very rear corner passenger side seam. It was green and dirty where the water was coming in. I cleaned it up and got it dry. I sprayed water on the lower half of the rear windshield and I could see the water seeping in through the seem. I figure the rear windshield weather stripping must have let go. Called out the window guy and had them replace the window with a new Ford slider. Water test seems good. Should be able to do a rain test for the NEXT SEVEN DAYS!

I`v done the third brake light seal and the leak is still there.
But to day .... after spending 6 ours in my garage...... I found the leak.
Just under rear window right corner where the cab is glued together vertically it is. Water goes true the seam and comes inside about 5" below rear window and goes down the back wall to bottom rear corner and over the little bump and down under the kick plate.
It`s not the window sealing, because I did not spray any water on the window or the rubber sealing. Carefully sprayed just below the rubber sealing and closely watch inside for leaks and water appears instantly.
Not an easy spot to fix because of the bed..... so I may have to pull it of. But have to wait for the rain to stop.
PS..... sorry for my bad English, but I hope you understand.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I read your post wrong I see it now. Well my truck sat out in the rain all day yesterday AND FAILED THE RAIN TEST!! It's still leaking but I can say the new windshield is nice and clean.... So I will check these seems and go back to the third brake light again.. I would not use silicone on the seems. What ever body sealer ford uses is paintable. If I find it leaking at the seams, I will check with a bodyman I know and see what he says about those seems...
Would love to pull the canopy and the rear bed to find out it does not fix the leak either!

I picked up some seam sealer at Napa auto parts today. Pro #4301 beige.
Removed the seat and moulding in the rear again to expose the rear bulkhead and body seam area. Sprayed water on seam starting at the bottom. Did not see any leaking till I got about 6 inches from the windshield (sound familiar). Water runs down the seam to the bottom.
I think I am going to try and seal in from the inside. You can see where the factory sealed between the floor and rearl bulkhead with a seam sealer. I read on another forum where a guy had the dealer seal his this way. If that does not work I will seal as much of the outside seam as I can get to...
I have blown it out with air and now will let it dry under a heat lamp for a few hours..

I decided to go ahead and do the outside seam as well. I could only reach about 6 inches of it but I think that is where the water was getting in. The Pro napa sealer is pretty good stuff but it skims over quickly and you only have a few minutes of working time.
I will put it back togehter and take it out tomorrow for the rain test...
