300-6 -> 351m bell crank and frame side bracket?

Hey guys,

Tonight among other things I worked on installing my bell crank for my clutch linkage and the bracket that goes on the bell housing. My truck originally had a 300-6 in it before the restoration project.

The bracket on the frame doesnt line up with the one on the bell housing (bell housing side is higher) and it seems like the bell crank is too wide.

Are the frame side bracket and bell crank different from the 300-6 to the 351m?

Nope they are the same.

Engine side is different of course...

Sounds like you are trying to use the wrong engine perches and mounts... I6 perches are unique to themselves (and FE) 351M/400 are different.

I can't quite remember what truck he had the motor in but I think it might of been a high boy.

I also had some issues with my t-case mount lining up so I had to unbolt the frame side and move it in the slots the factory have on it.

Well... Highboys only came with the I6/FE engine unless it was an early 77 model.

Ask FTE member mikeo0o0o0 to scan and post the following:

1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog / Illustration Section 72, Page 12 / 1977/79 F100/350: ALL the clutch related parts are shown in an exploded view.

Notice the three different types of inner Z bar pivot brackets.

D7TZ-7A572-A .. 351M/400 Clutch Equalizer (Z) Bar Pivot Bracket-Inner / Obsolete ~ 1977/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco.

Only one is available NOS
