I added a really cool custom camera system to my 2008 King Ranch. Check out this thread to see a video of it.

Or check out the web site I built to demonstrate the system to Ford (hoping they might want to buy it and include it as a factory option in the future)
FOUR-CAMERA Vehicle Video System

Any way, I recently traded that truck on a 2011 King Ranch and am currently working to get the same system installed on this new truck. There are a few issues created by the differences in the newer trucks but nothing I can't overcome.

Stay tuned...

Was this camera ever released and has anyone tried it. I love my rear camera but really wish these big beasts would come with a front camera. Would really help when parking and trying to squeeze in a tight area. Is there anything else out on the market that will work with my factory Navigation?

From reading, i didn't think the lockpick would allow you to use a front camera.

I called 4D Tech and they said they are still in the process of getting this developed. I was informed though that it should be released this year and will work in the F250 with Nav. Keeping my fingers crossed

This thread is relevant to my interests. Subscribing.

I just installed a rear camera above the door on my slide-in camper and wired it up so it displays on the dash Sync display like the OEM tailgate camera. While in the middle of this project I tested four different cameras and wired them up to a homemade video switch. (I'm a video engineer by trade.) I just looked at the 4D website and that looks to be a pretty professional install complete with a custom steering wheel button, and the Lockpick is cool also but yikes - the price is a bit steep if all you want to do is run an extra camera and couldn't care less about playing DVD's and having the nav controls work while underway.

What I intend to do is use one or more of the upfitter switches to control one or two extra cameras but then I ran into the problem of finding the dang wires for those things under the dash and now I'm off building a much better circuit board for those.
