sometimes when I slow down and then give it the gas, it acts like it dont want to go, engine still running but barelly move. the last time it did it i looked at the boost and it was 0 but the rpm gauge read 1,000. then it grabbed and took off. and every now and again the turbo will serge a lil high for just a sec. Is the turbo going out?? and if so, if i replace it what is a good inexpensive one to replace it with and how hard is it.
no engine light coming on if there is one. should i check the codes with my programmer. truck is set a stock now and has been for a while.

Im no expert on turbos but my 05 started having the turbo farting and surging at random and then a couple days ago doing it really bad, couldnt go over 10mph at wide open throttle. Boost took off and blew the lower intercooler boot. Got it back on and clamped down and running fine now. Gonna reclean everything and reseat the hose just to be on the safe side and also order a new boot as Ive heard once they pop they need replaced. So I would check the blue hoses coming out of the turbo and the one going down by the radiator for cracks.

 

Have your codes read at a local auto zone. Ill put money on a sticking egr valve. You might get away with a cleaning.

 

Also check the MAP hose and the EBP tube (clear from pluggage, no holes/leaks, etc).
