Hummer H2 is a Tahoe chassis with 5 passenger capacity, the EX is much larger in all aspects of interior space.

Gah, beat me to it. Yes the Excursion is the largest SUV made. The H2 is garbage anyway as are most GM products.

You must be thinking of the H1 and it's only wider. My X towers over the H2 and is WAY longer!

As was mentioned the X is the largest non-specialty SUV made.

Well I haven't purchased my X yet but the reason I am looking for one because I need something that will do it all for me and my family.

Safety- yes, I feel safe driving a tank. I think its the perfect people transporter for myself, my wife and two kids.

Utility- my 4x4 model will take me on the beaches of South Padre Island and pull a travel trailer with ease. The cargo space and roof rack are more than enough.

Do I need a truck? - no, I have a ranger that rarely gets bed usage. I drive any one of the many Super Duty trucks at work so if push come to shove, I can use one if need be.

Fuel mileage - who cares I have owned many Pre97 F150s that have all averaged 10mpg.

I think it will make the perfect project and weekend warrior/family cruiser

right, but the X is narrower than the H2 by a couple of inches. not that I am a friend of H2's but their appearance IS impressive in terms of exterior dimensions.

does anyone here have some pics that show the X and the H2 both in stock version next to each other?

Rented an excursion in ABQ to carry family to
colorado. Loved the room, but the 10mpg was eye opening.
when my tahoe began to need constant repairs
i researched and decided i wanted an '05 for
newness and the psd for accasional towing but i also do long hiway drives and the mpg of the psd was
Great.
The ex is also not much bigger than the expy el
but with a heavy frame and psd/v10 can't be matched to the 5.4 of the expy.

I wanted the Excursion for the same reason that I want a Hummer H1 (I will be getting one this year). It's big, it's capable and it stands apart from anything else out there. Same reason I own a Land Rover.

That and the fact that I live on a class 4 road in the middle of the woods, really more of a snowmobile trail than a road. I also need to tow stuff, and carry stuff.

I've wanted an Excursion since 1999, I picked mine up in 2011. I had a '97 F250HD Crew before that and I've always loved Fords.
