Scott, I'm curious how the steering worked out mating the COE cab on a conventional chassis? I would think the steering box might be too far back or the linkage wouldn't come up where you'd want it to?

Wayne, I have not tackled the steering issue yet, just mocking things up so far. I think I can make it work with a couple U-joints. I also have a van steering box that may work.
In hindsight, a motorhome or P-van chassis would have worked much better. Oh well, no turning back.....

My son and I did a little cutting yesterday......I will use the rear section from a different cab which is in a little better shape. Will also make the new subframe to support the lengthened cab.

How much stretch? 3" - 4" would make a lot of difference...

12 inches Ross.....my plan is to make the seats able to slide way back for easy entry/ exit of the cab.

I'm going to have to object to these COE build threads.
Every time I look at one I want to have one even more. You guys are a very bad influence.

Joe, I'm gonna keep an eye out for a COE just for you.

Seriously, I'm having a blast working on this thing. Doing it lowbuck makes it even better!
These old trucks sure are good therapy when everyday life makes you crazy.

It's a beauty and low-buck doesn't mean low-quality. Love it.....

One of the guys on the Hamb did a photoshop of my cab......looks really good, almost exactly what I planned. I probably won't extend the drip rail over the 1/4 window.

That is a fantastic and talented photoshop job. The reflections and patina match is perfect. My hat is off.

I like the drip rail over the quarter window. It ties it all together good. Makes it look factory following the seams. My 2c.
