Not for a refill after you flush the block, no. You need concentrate.

I was planning pull radiator out and oil cooler. hook to house water to flush all unknown stuff inside cooling system that preview owner put.

I read that I need get dist water from walmart. I think 10 gallons enough since I was going park truck on steep driveway so all fluid inside would had been out easier.

There's no need to pull the radiator.

Just read the instructions in the link I provided (it has very good pictures) and follow Gooch's procedure and you'll be fine.

Radiator had half surface clogged by junk. It look white fuzzily is cover it. I had other 1999 F250 with 253K miles. It was so bad that I end spend 40 mins rise with water. Those water go though radiator it was GREY nasty .

I don't know what that white stuff. I think goldenrod seeds or that picture if anyone know.

I believe you need to use the green coolant.

There is a thread on here somewhere stating which engines (by serial number) can use the ELC coolant. Based on the build date of your truck, I would say that Pitcrw6 is right and you need the green SCA coolant and cannot use ELC.

Your answer is in post #2 of this thread. You are right on the line so I would check the engine serial # to see which side of that line you fall. I had an E99 for years and ran the pink stuff from Tractor Supply called Fleet Charge. It was not ELC and came pre-charged with SCA's.

Good Luck!

Either he mistyped or you misread, he reports a build date of 2/98, not 2/99. You are right, though, if he has mistyped and his build date is 2/99.

That would be...I mis-read! Definitely need to use the SCA charged coolant and not the ELC.

Thanks Walleye for catching that.

I run NAPA green, easy to get practically everywhere.

Tim J hasn't been active for over a year. I like only having one type of antifreeze in my cupboard as well, works in my car, truck and tractor (they're all old anyway).

I've read many threads as I am getting ready to do a coolant flush, change the original water pump since it has clocked well over 200K miles, change the thermostat and housing, and add a coolant filter, and add a new gas bottle cap. The only thing I would like to make sure is that I am purchasing the correct coolant. My valve cover has December 16th, 1998 stamped on it (for my signature rig). So I guess I have an early '99 model? I also suppose I need the conventional coolant and add a SCA. Have I read correctly? What is the recommended flush interval with all these considerations? Any other good to-do items I left off? Thanks!!

"Have I read correctly?"

Yes, it looks like it per your info. Not sure on the flush interval. I believe that it depends on how well it tests with the test strips.
