when the rod is connected and the truck is off and sitting, what direction is that tang usually?

 

That is the fully open position. No wonder you can't get the rod back over the pin. Turn it back toward the actuator.

 

is it really tough or should it turn easy? cause i cant do it by hand.

 

Look at the pic in post 13. Maybe you should start over again at post 6. I think you have missed a few.

 

Make sure you turn it the right direction. It will not turn 360°.

 

i dont understand, i didnt shorten the rod, the tang is pointing toward the pass side and i cant turn it with out forcing it

 

 

It only has about 90° of travel.

At this point you may have to remove the exhaust outlet housing to figure out why it is hung up.

 

pull that tab toward the front of the truck. I got a turbo apart in the garage and went and looked at it

 

i cant move it! it doesnt turn.. it turned 2 hours ago when i took it off.. arent the controlled by oil pressure?

 

not that one. All the tab is, is a flapper inside the exhaust housing. No spring, oil..etc anywhere there. Only thing that can bind it up is built up carbon/soot...

 

ok well i put a pair of vise grips on it and wiggled it back and fourth and it came free but then it got stuck again then it came free and i got the rod on.. im afraid to fire it up lol

 

lol...that flapper/tab, only moves 90*. Starts in the, pointing toward front of truck, and when opened, toward pass/side.

 

Glad you got it free and hooked back up.

Apply some air pressure to the actuator to check operation.

just took her for a test drive, everything seems to be working fine. the FRx made it idle quieter hmmm.. well see what the new comp wheel is like when im towing later this week.. thanks abunch for all you help guys i really appreciate it
