I have a new clutch on the way for my 05 F250 6.0 6spd 4x4. Just curious as to who has done this before, and any helpful tips or hints, or anything you might think I need to know. Thanks in advance, I know I'll learn something from here once again.

Where are you getting the parts from? When doing the job, don't forget to change out the cheesy plastic clutch fork pivot that always break. Other than that, the only other tip I can offer, is that the ZF6 transmissions are HEAVY, so be prepared.

Furthermore, if it has the original garbage dual mass flywheel in it, you WILL need to change it to the single mass unit. Doing so also mandates replacing ALL the bolts to the crankshaft (because longer ones are required).

I have the have the south bend 550 horse clutch on its way. It comes with a new single mass flywheel and all. but I am wondering if they had the dual mass in early 05?
And I'm doing it in the shop here on post, full lift and all. This is my first clutch on a 4x4 that I've had to change so far.
