Is it true that we cant get this paint anymore? Im looking at Taurus that is wrecked that may be ford paint code UH (Truxedo Black)...

It would be kind of dumb to buy a car i cant match the paint on.

I read a few weeeks back that the special pigment for the Tuxedo Black paint is made in Japan and will not be available because of the earthquake. There may be a limited availability but I wouldn’t count on it if you have a truck on order that color. I would imagine the dealer would have better information that here.

The high tech domestic paint suppliers can match paint perfectly these days. That's what most reputable body shops do rather than buying OEM paint. I just had a friend with hail damage on his 2011 F150 have his damage repaired and repainted and you can't tell the difference.

I'm not sure if you can get tuxedo black paint from FoMoCo but you can get it through the aftermarket. Some jack wagon put a 2' scrape on the side of my truck in a parking lot and decided to leave before I came out of the store.
I'm not sure what brand of paint it was. But the body shop used the same brand they always use and it was a perfect match.

Tuxedo Black is being used on the 2012 Harley Davidson F150 so it's still a Ford paint. Granted, it is a limited edition truck but the paint is available.

Sourcing Tuxedo Black for the repairs will be a non-issue.

Tuxedo Black will be available on all MY12 F-150's, not just the Harley-Davidson, as it is once again replacing regular Black. Super Duty, Explorer, Taurus, etc. will all be gradually switching back to Tuxedo Black as well.

These guys beat me to it. It shouldn't be an issue anymore.
