10 F150 Screw Miles to E inaccurate?

^^ These are both so worthy of reps...
I repped the first one if someone would be so kind as to rep the second one for me please.
Welcome to FTE Dessie227! I'll tell you the gender thing has nothing to do with this. My younger brother was in his 20s and one day while I was visiting my mom, she asked me to help him with his car. I went outside to find him literally jumping up and down on the hood of his Honda Accord. I asked him what was wrong and he said the hood wouldn't latch. I got a can of WD-40 and sprayed the latch mechanism and PRESTO. Worked fine. And in his own stupid rage, he had caused himself about $800 in damage to his hood. Love him to death but he's a guy with absolutely ZERO mechanical aptitude and it shows.
The DTE in these trucks can be either very accurate or completely misleading. Mine in my current truck has been dead on accurate so far. In my '05 F-250, it was hit or miss. Don't rely on it for accuracy. Go with your gut. I never let mine get below 1/4 tank before I fill it up just to be on the safe side.
Oh, and you can rant and vent here all you want. That's what everyone's here for.

Ok, so I hear what everyone is saying. I'm a girl, so I guess I just don't get it. I know my truck. I'm familiar with the sounds it makes, etc. I thought I knew it well enough to know that 37MTE would at least get me 1 mile to the gas station. Guess I was wrong?
The actual fuel gauge, The one on the dash with a needle that swings beteen "F" and "E"?" SAID E. I get that.
Perhaps I can request the dealership disengage the thing that isn't a "gauge" that comes on warning 50 MTE. Why have unnecessary crap on it if it is useless? And seriously, if it is 37 miles off then to me it is useless.
Lesson learned, no doubt. I was just curious to see if this is something that happens to other people or if it was just an isolated incident for me.
Also, can I edit my title? I don't like the "Screw". Obviously, I meant Super Crew.
