Scangauge??
Hi everyone. I was thinking about getting a Scangauge II for my truck. It is a 2003 SD Lariat FX4 CC 4X4 SB V-10. I was looking for something simple and plug and paly. I know that the stock Ford gauges are not very accurate. Is the Scangauge II pretty good? Does anyone have any experience with this?
The best part about this is my wife gave me the ok to get it.

I've got one and really like it. The basic stuff is plug and play but for anything Ford specific (transmission temp, etc.) you need to use the X Gauge feature which requires you to program in each gauge. It's really not that bad, just takes a few minutes per gauge. It's a string of numbers/letters but once it's done it's saved - you can download a list of codes on their website.
Personally, I think the scangauge gives the most bang for the buck compared to other similar electronic ones, especially for a gasser. Just remember it only reads what the sensors send to the computer, it's not like a mechanical gauge.

Things like the voltage and water temp are all plug and play, along w/ the fuel economy stuff. Tranny temp will have to be coded in, and I'm not sure about oil stuff - I'm not thinking it's an option for gassers, I don't think I ever found it on mine. I think you can get it on diesels but not gas engines. Download the X Gauge codes, that will tell you all that's available.
