My truck is quarantined from any other Ford truck until it steers again. Apparently my bad steering disease is contagious. That's exactly what mine does.

...and yes, the 2WD box is different.

So the is an old beat up bridge going though down town, the last two times I went across this bridge in the bronco I got a real bad death wobble on the left side? I'm only going 45mph, and have to almost stop the truck to get it to stop shaking!

Wheel bearings (probably not), tie rod end (maybe), trac bar bushings (a big maybe and probably it), radius arm bushings (hope not), C-bushings (really hope not).

Drive across it again with someone to watch the passenger side tire for the same wobble.

Here's a link to my photo album for the Chevelle. This "project" should go pretty fast.

Got the 98 Z28 outta the shop yesterday and my Dent inside, minimal power assist really sucks with big tires but I'll cope with it for a bit...I think. It has a terrible miss and I'll mess with it a bit tonight and test wires and what not. Once I've been through that, I'll throw a bottle of ATF in the oil pan and let it idle while it cleans the innards of 17 years of sitting.

Mebbe.

I've done some digging and can't find much in the way of options for my truck...it's got the Carter one barrel on it, and I can't help but think that a bigger better carb would help with take off speed.

Finding an adapter to make a larger carb fit has seemed rather impossible.

The death wobble on my 79 was the radius arm bushing on the drivers side...it wasn't that terrible to replace.

Good luck!

Come to think of it, I bought the one for the passenger side and never got around to installing it. Betcha a dollar it's still in the box somewhere in my garage...which would mean that I have now moved parts for a truck that I no longer own TWICE.

Doh.

Is that a six with the one barrel? I have a Clifford manifold.

Terry, I have radius arm bushings for the 1 ton I sold a year and a half ago.

As far as the carb, putting a bigger carb on a small adapter is just about pointless. All it'll do is use more gas and run a little worse. Picture that adapter as a funnel. If you put too much in the top, all it does is back up into the funnel and doesn't actually go in any faster than the small hole will allow. To properly put a larger carb on there, you need to change the manifold, cam, and exhaust. (minimum)

I think you could get away with the 500 cfm if you put an Offenhauser manifold on it. (assuming we're talking about a 300-6. A split header would help things along even more.

I got the carb for the good doctor's '69 Camaro ready to go and the guy with the boat is picking it up around 2030-2100 hours. It should be a good week if I can knock out the Camaro tomorrow. ..

............then it's on to welding the Chevelle together!
