EGR Delete

What is anybodys take on a EGR Delete kit for the 6.0's? I just dropped 1500 large on getting my EGR valve and intake cleaned and I really don't want to do it again.

Thanks

Note for the above link: Since your truck is 2004 it does not have the up-pipe scoop found in 2005-2007.

What state do you live in? If it is legal in your state, you can fully block the egr system, re-route the coolant on the cheap, but not cheapin out on your truck.

I doubt there is any state in the country that allows deleting any emission equipment from a vehicle. Federal law supercede any state laws. Some states enforce emission standards with annual inspections, but most don't as of now. I would definitely check before removing any emission equipment.

Yeah I doubt Utah would let me do it legally, we do annual emissions testing to get re-registered. We are on vacation pulling a trailer and I needed to get this fixed right away, no time to fiddle with this myself. Thanks for the input

It depends on the type of testing your state does. With the delete, it will not pass a visual inspection, but won't make any difference on particulate testing, while it can make a difference if they test for Nox emissions.

There are ways of deleting but still making it pass visual, because some states only do visual testing.

If you can delete it, do it! No one has ever regretted removing that brain dead EPA required idea.
