This is craziness. Is there a way to make this a see only post for members with a certain amount of posts?? Sure seems like an easy way for thieves to go find all Excursions and find an easy way to get into them.
You'd have to shut down the internet. This forum is far from the only place this info is listed.
It's also not exactly a quick process... If someone is out poking buttons on the side of my rig for that long and nobody says anything, I don't want to be on this planet anymore.

...and if you think a vehicle with an external keypad but no other anti-theft systems are impervious to criminals, you have other issues to worry about.

The thief will always go for whats quickest. Many on this thread have said it has taken less then 10 minutes. I realize if they don't have a key, it will take a little bit longer, but this is almost like the whole Ford Ranger Antenna deal. Was just a question though.

Totally agree...and it's part of my point. Whatever they add to make it convenient for you also makes it convenient for a thief. When you see something like a keypad on the door of your new car, I'd hope that your first thought would be "better add an alarm with disable features on it" to counteract the keypad.
Many on the forum just disconnected the keypad since this info on how to find it has been on the internet for years.
Hey I did got my code for my 2005 Ex by using my cellphone.
I removed the panel covering the fuse box, and turned my cellphone over to camera mode. Turned on the film light hit record and stuffed it up there and videoed the label.
Thanks for this info, I'm about to reprogram my lock now!
DANG: I eread the entire thread & YES it is "clear as mud" To Me. Probably cause "I'm thick as a brick"....
I have (2) 2000s I need to do this to.
What I don't get is this: I'm standing there & I start punching in the #s,
How do I know when I get the 1st # in my 5 digit code ?? The 2nd ??? on & on to 5th #.... THANKS
I honestly thought it was more time effective to find the master code by looking at the tag on the unit itself. I spent more time looking for a mirror when doing this than it actually took to do it.
I ended up using the video recorder mode on my phone and the recording light to get my master code off the black box thing.
