Hedman Elite 351m/400 and exhaust question

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone has run these headers? and what you think.
Hedman 89218 Hedman Hedders Elite Headers

I'm tempted to get them but I also have a set of manifolds in good shape which I was going to use for the time being because of budget reasons.

Is it possible to run dual exhaust with manifolds and get over the transmission cross member on a 4 speed truck? That's my main reason for not wanting to use manifolds or chassis exit headers.

Thanks in advance
-Justin

just ordered these same headers about two weeks ago for my 77. i should have my motor in this week so i will see how good the fitment will be since i also have to run new exhaust. i had these headers on my 79 f250 with a 460 and they were great. only thing i recommend is getting a good set of gaskets since the ones supplied dont last long. these headers have a thick flange and they never rusted or discolored when i had them. so i personally like them and will continue to run them.

heres a pic

I have headmans on mine and it's a stretch to get them up and over the cross member and through the hole but I'm slowly getting it done. A competent pipe guy can do it easily. I'm just a back yard monkey using pre bent pieces with an expander.

I have a set of headmans fenderwell exit on my 77 highboy. The only things I dont like are the coating will not hold up to MN roadsalt. they get rusty after 6-8 weeks even with washing them 2-3 times a week! the other is the flanges do not fit most of the gaskets on the market. You need to buy the gaskets from headman. I'm on my 4th set in around 3 years. headman has been good with there coating warranty re-coating them for me when they get rusty. other than that they fit good and seem to be built well.
Hope this helps

I have a set of chassis exit elite headers on my 79 f150 351 m They are nice headers but to pay the extra for the elite coating is a waste of money. they start rusting quickly. If your going to put the extra money into a coating i would jet hot them.

The main reason I was looking at the elite's is the flange thickness and primary tube thickness. I don't really have the budget for jet hot. They look sweet on that motor though.
