I just purchased this vehicle. I live in remote Alaska, so parts and troubleshooting will take time and twice the price for any item unless I get them from Anchorage. Here is what I know. The vehicle has 95K miles, and a month ago the OD stopped working. Then one day everything stopped, no forward or reverse. Engine runs great, but when putting into any gear, it sounds like my turbo spooling down on my 7.3 diesel. The engine automatically increases in rpm then settles back to idle when shifting gears, and there is no movement what so ever in any gear. I have not pulled the pan yet, but the fluid doesn't smell burnt but in my opinion it needs to be changed. I do not have a code reader, so I am trying to find someone who does. The OD light is not blinking.
Only other issue is the main 4 windows do not work, but the rear one does. Not a bad deal for where I am for $1400. Tired of riding my 6 wheeler in the 9 months of cold throughout the year. Thanks for any advice.

 

There are many things that would cause those symptoms, from plugged filter, to a leaky valve body, to a shredded sprag gear.... Philip

 

I dropped the pan enough to test the solenoids. All checked out okay. I reached in to feel for any parts/pieces and only things found were the round metal spacers out of the gasket. Ford engineers should be shot, having to either bend the lip on the cat and/or remove it and the driveline to get the pan out.

Done for today, back issues limits me as far as how much I can do.
