Do you see any issues with that product, price is about the same,,,probably less (no
taxes)
To be honest with you, I don't think the Hellwig had a sway-bar for our year truck out when I was ready to order. But I don't know if I would change my decision anyway. With the stock swaybar all the mounts were already in place and everything fit perfectly. Plus if I ever had a problem with anything on the rear suspension of my truck I wouldn’t have to worry about warranty issues. I am curious how smooth the Hellwig installation would go and if any has put one on yet.

What measurement is needed? The swaybar is 5/8 inch thick. Stock item.

I did the sway bar install on my 11 f350, with 20" wheels today. Thanks for the part numbers and pictures. I just installed the Rancho 9000XLs with remote control a few days ago.

I guess these upgrades will improve our 9500 lb travel trailer towing...

Thanks!

Hellwig 7714 sway bar

Today I installed a Hellwig rear sway bar on my 2012 f-250 super crew 4x4 diesel.Part # 7714. I have it set on the softest setting and it made a big difference. The truck is much flatter when turning and just feels nicer driving in general.I bought it thru amazon $198.00 shipped. It cost a little more than stock. The diameter is 1 1/8" and I believe stock is 5/8".Install was straight forward with no issues. The bolt install behind the DEF tank was a snap, only the spare had to be lowered. It's a nice, clean neat install.I hope this helps someone who is on the fence as I was vs a stock sway bar.

Thanks for noticing the safety glasses. I wear them for every project I do in and around the house. I have about 10 different pairs scattered around so one pair is always available. It was probable all the “Brain-washing” the military did to me, about how important safety glasses are. They saved my eyesight in Iraq.

Just a couple of comments on installing this on a gasser shortbed crew cab.....

Obviously a very similar setup, only difference is the fuel tank vs. def tank. The gasser has a 35 gal fuel tank that can't be moved to get to that left side top bolt inside the frame. In addition to dropping the spare, there is also a bracket with some fittings, etc for the rear brakes that I unbolted to move out of the way. Overall a relatively easy install, however I would suggest using a shorty wrench on that top bolt (as big sarge mentioned), I think that would make it a bit easier.

Yes, just yesterday. I did have a little difficulyl though: We ordered a bunch of parts, several different end links and blocks hoping to come up with a combination where I could swap out the 2" blocks for the 3 1/2" ones. In the end all we added were the bar and the end links as in this configuration the bar ends sit parallel to the ground. Had we added the 3 1/2" blocks, it would have turned the bar down, below the rear diff.

It is interesting though as I wonder what I'll pick (perhaps 'hang') up on with those bar ends.

We came back from a 9 day, 2400 mile round trip towing the travel trailer. Definitely made a difference in the rear end. Basically, it moves around less.

Our travel trailer is 33' from rear bumper on the trailer to hitch, so it's a big sail...

The Rancho adjustable 9000xls were also installed prior to our trip. They also made a difference, especially with the wireless, and being to adjust them on the fly for an immediate change in ride!

Worth the time and money in my case!

Good work, SARGE

Did you think about installing an aftermarket (Thicker) bar or was that not an option?

There was only one option for the Ford rear swaybar. The Hellwig model looks alot larger in diameter...but I wanted a stock rear sway bar so Ford couldn't play any warranty games with me if i had a rear suspension issue.
